| Classic Rolled Sugar Cookies 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup white sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Cream together butter and sugar. Add in egg, milk and vanilla extract, beating well. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture gradually until well blended. Cover the dough, chilling for at least an hour. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, baking at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks. |
