Royal Icing Recipe
4 Egg whites 4 Cups sifted powdered sugar 1 tsp almond or lemon extract Drops of liquid food coloring (optional)
Beat egg whites in large size bowl with mixer on high until foamy. Slowly add sugar, a little at a time. Then add the extract. Beat on high until thick. Mix in your desired coloring. Don't leave this icing out in the air too long or it will become too hard too work with.
