Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/8 cups Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking soda
12 tbsp Butter (melted and cooled)
1 cup Brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 Egg
1 Egg yolk
2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together flour and soda in bowl. Set aside. Mix butter and sugars until well blended. Mix in egg, egg yolk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients until just blended. Add chocolate chips. Form dough into balls, use approximately 1/4 cup of dough for each ball. Holding dough ball using fingertips of both hands, pull ball apart into equal halves. Rotate 90 degrees and, with uneven ends up put back together at base to make a single cookie. The key is to have the top of each cookie uneven. Make about 9 balls per sheet. Place on parchment paper. Bake cookies reversing cookie sheet positions halfway through baking, until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges start to harden, but centers still look soft and puffy, about 14 to 18 minutes.
