Christmas Angels

1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Cream cheese
1 c Light brown sugar (packed)
1/2 c White sugar
2 Eggs
3 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Vanilla
2 c Candied fruit
2 c Almonds and Pecans

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. In mixing bowl, cream together cream cheese and shortening until fluffy and smooth. Add eggs, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix well. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, salt and baking soda together. Add the dry flour mix to the sugar and egg mixture. Add the vanilla extract, mixing well. Add nuts and candied fruits. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on to lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350F until just lightly browned at edges.
