3/4 cups Softened Butter
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
3 cups Sifted flour
2 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
In large mixing bowl, beat at medium speed the sugar and butter. Add in eggs and vanilla extract, continuing to beat. Stir in the flour and baking powder. Divide dough into three pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, flattening into a thick disc shape. Wrap dough in saran or plastic wrap. Chill for several hours, or overnight. When ready to bake cookies, roll dough into 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters into shapes. Bake for six minutes at 375F degrees, until just slightly golden. Cool before decorating with your favorite Christmas frosting or icing recipe.
