Poppy Drop Cookies

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1 egg
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons poppy seed
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Poppy Seed Glaze (recipe below)

Poppy Seed Glaze Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Heat oven to 375º. Beat sugar, butter and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, poppy seed, baking powder and salt. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2″ apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 – 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 – 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Drizzle with Poppy Seed Glaze.

Poppy Seed Glaze Directions:

Mix all ingredients until smooth.
